Description:
Letrozole is also called Femara, it is an oral non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor for the treatment of
hormonally-responsive breast cancer after surgery.
Estrogen are produced by the conversion of androgens through the activity of the aromatase
enzyme. Estrogen then bind to an estrogen receptor, which causes cells to divide.
Femara prevents the aromatase from producing estrogen by competitive, reversible binding to
the heme of its cytochrome P450 unit. The action is specific, and Femara does not reduce
production of mineralo- or corticosteroids.
Application:
Femara is a type II (non-steroidal) third generation aromatase inhibitor. Clinically it is used to
treat postmenopausal women with either estrogen receptor positive or estrogen receptor
unknown breast cancer.
In women with breast cancer, it has been shown to reduce estrogen levels by 98% or more.
However, it's use and benefits are not limited to eliminating estrogen in women.
For pre-contest bodybuilders, Femara is almost a necessity to eliminate water retention and
achieve the ripped look necessary to compete in today's bodybuilding world. However, in my
experience, it is only necessary to be used for the last 4-6 weeks, to eliminate excess estrogen
and water retention. After using Femara I recommend staying away from any estrogen
suppression for at least a month to try to normalize the body.

Usage:
Letrozol is used treat early breast cancer in women who have experienced menopause and who
have had other treatments, such as radiation or surgery to remove the tumor. It is also used to
treat early breast cancer in women who have experienced menopause and who have already
been treated with a medication called tamoxifen (Nolvadex) for 5 years.
Letrozol is also used in women who have experienced menopause as a first treatment of breast
cancer that has spread within the breast or to other areas of the body or in women whose breast
cancer has worsened while they were taking tamoxifen.
Dosage:
Inside, by 2.5 mg/day, long course (5-10 Years and more).
Femara comes in tablets of 2.5 mg. For cancer, usual dosage is 2.5mg/day.
If you're taking Femara for fertility treatment, your doctor may tell you to take either 2.5 mg or 5
mg of the drug, beginning on the third day of your period for five days.
